In June 2023, Dan will be embarking on another epic adventure, cycling from the Canadian border to Mexico in only 6 weeks! The grueling ride will take him through 3 states, passing through bustling cities and vast, remote landscapes, scenic mountain ranges and national parks.
This expedition will again be in aid of spreading awareness and raising funds for Operation Smile, South Africa!
Operation Smile is an NPO dedicated to making a difference in the lives of thousands of children born with a cleft palate. With every $300 (R5500) raised, a surgery is funded; a small contribution that changes a child’s life forever.

At the heart of Dan’s ethos is the belief that everyone deserves a chance at a good life, and he found himself always asking what the nature of his personal responsibility to the world was. To Dan, the answer was simple, he loves to make people smile. To that end, he decided to up the ante on what he believes in and make the biggest difference he can. In June 2023, Dan will embark on his second epic cycle journey, this time travelling from the Canadian border to Mexico, crossing the span of America to raise funds and awareness for Operation Smile.
Behind the scenes Ashley Verhulp from Cyntech, takes care of The Smile Cycle operations while Dan Meyer cycles accross Europe in effort of raising funds and awareness for Operation Smile. With Ashley’s many years of experience as Project Manager and Design Engineer at Cyntech, he sees his contributions as more than a job – but as a practice of passion. Alike to his devotion for his practice, he is especially excited for the outcome of this cause as it reflects a direct life-lasting impact – a change for good that will leave a smile on everyone’s faces.
